Jio Platforms IPO: Multiple Growth Engines Positioned for Expansion

Jio Platforms Limited, already India's largest digital connectivity company, is preparing for its initial public offering with a valuation-backed strategy centred on multiple expansion avenues. The ₹30,213 crore IPO opens on October 21, with brokerage analysts identifying several growth drivers.
The company has 533.3 million subscribers as of June 2026, with 261 million users still on 2G networks presenting upgrade opportunities. Average revenue per user rose from ₹181.7 in FY24 to ₹215.6 in Q1FY27, and monthly data consumption per customer reached 43.7 GB. Analysts project further growth through affordable offerings like the ₹799 JioBharat phone bundled with digital services.
Home broadband represents another expansion frontier. Jio had 28.6 million JioFiber and JioAirFiber subscribers as of June 2026. With India's fixed broadband penetration at approximately 21 percent in FY26, projected to reach 46 percent by FY31, analysts see significant headroom. JioAirFiber's fixed wireless access is expected to accelerate adoption in underserved markets where fibre deployment proves costly.
Enterprise cloud services and AI-based offerings form additional growth pillars alongside potential technology licensing to overseas telecom operators.
