Kerala BJP demands CBI probe into Messi visit arrangements

Kerala BJP leader S. Suresh has sought a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding a proposed visit by Lionel Messi and the Argentina football team to the state. Suresh accused former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the CPI(M) of involvement in what he termed a 'loot', claiming financial misconduct in the arrangements.

The BJP leader urged the current government led by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The allegations centre on the handling and financing of the proposed visit by the Argentine national team.
