Kerala's capital spending low, committed costs high: CM Satheesan

Kerala Chief Minister A.K. Satheesan highlighted the state's fiscal constraints, noting that approximately 80% of revenue received by Kerala is allocated towards committed expenditure. This includes government salaries, pensions, and interest payments on loans.
The statement underscores the limited fiscal space available for capital expenditure and development projects. Satheesan's remarks reflect the budgetary pressures faced by the state government in balancing recurring obligations with investment in infrastructure and growth initiatives.
