Kerala CM flags off Vizhinjam port operations, calls it state's development gateway

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan on Wednesday formally launched export-import operations at Vizhinjam International Seaport, describing it as a gateway to global development for the state. The port features advanced technology including AI-powered automated systems, enabling faster cargo handling and container movement.
Satheesan said goods exported through the seaport can now reach ports across all six continents in a short timeframe. The facility is expected to enhance Kerala's trade connectivity and economic growth through improved maritime access.
