Kerala HC Order Against Pinarayi Vijayan Raises Natural Justice Questions: Legal Experts

Legal experts have raised concerns about a Kerala High Court order against former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others, questioning whether it adheres to principles of natural justice.
According to legal analysts, Vijayan, along with Riyas and Veena, were denied an opportunity to be heard before the order was passed. This denial of hearing rights can be construed as a violation of natural justice, they argue, and the order could potentially be challenged in the High Court or the Supreme Court.
Some legal experts have also pointed out that the single judge's order appears to bypass a statutory requirement that mandates approval from the competent authority before conducting an inquiry into public servants. This procedural deviation raises further questions about the legitimacy of the judicial process followed.
