Kerala High Court takes suo motu action in Nedumangadu child murder case

The Kerala High Court has registered a suo motu petition in the Nedumangadu child murder case to investigate alleged child abuse and lapses in the welfare system. The court orally inquired about the reasons behind the inaction of the District Child Protection Officer despite receiving information about alleged abuse from the child's grandmother.
The petition seeks to examine the systemic failures that may have contributed to the incident and hold responsible authorities accountable for their negligence in protecting the child.
