Kerala to launch 'outbreak calendar' for better disease prediction
Kerala is planning to introduce an 'outbreak calendar' to enhance disease prediction and emergency response capabilities. Health Minister K. Muraleedharan linked the current Shigella outbreak in the state to insufficient monsoon cleaning practices.
The initiative aims to systematically track seasonal disease patterns and prepare healthcare systems accordingly. Muraleedharan emphasized the need for improved sanitation measures during monsoon seasons to prevent future outbreaks.
