Kerala and Tamil Nadu to set up joint waste dumping surveillance protocol

The pollution control boards of Kerala and Tamil Nadu have agreed to develop a joint monitoring protocol to address cross-border illegal waste dumping between the two states.
The proposed protocol aims to establish a coordinated mechanism for monitoring and verification of consignments and documents. It will also enable identification of violations and enforcement action by respective boards.
The initiative is designed to strengthen surveillance and prevent illegal waste movement across state borders, ensuring better environmental protection in both regions.
