Kerala bids farewell to tusker who stood vigil over mahout's body for five years

A tusker in Kerala, who became widely known after standing beside his mahout's body for an extended period, has died. The elephant's loyalty to his caretaker had captured public attention and sympathy across the state.
The incident, which occurred five years earlier, saw the elephant maintain a vigil over the mahout's remains, a display of the deep bond between the two. Kerala has since paid tribute to the animal, recognizing the remarkable relationship that defined much of the tusker's later life.
