New York Knicks fans flood Lower Manhattan ahead of 2026 championship parade

New York witnessed massive crowds gathering in Lower Manhattan on June 18 ahead of the Knicks' 2026 Championship Parade. Subway stations were packed as early as 4 am ET, six hours before the parade's scheduled 10 am start, with fans eager to secure prime viewing spots.
Social media videos showed crowded subway platforms and trains carrying spectators into Manhattan well before sunrise. One attendee reported being unable to exit a subway station for nearly 30 minutes due to the overwhelming crowds. City officials urged spectators to arrive early and prepared heightened security measures.
The championship ticker-tape parade began at Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan and proceeded north along Broadway, known as the "Canyon of Heroes," ending at City Hall where team officials and city leaders addressed the celebrating crowd.
