Kochi apartment death: CCTV shows woman entering stranger's car; postmortem rules out assault

The death of 45-year-old Anila Thomas, whose body was discovered in a parked car at Aluva on Thursday, has taken a puzzling turn after police recovered CCTV footage showing her entering another resident's car. The postmortem examination found no signs of assault or foul play. Police said the vehicle belonged to another apartment resident and was typically left unlocked, but have not yet determined why Thomas entered it.
Thomas had been living alone at the complex for three months. The postmortem revealed she suffered from serious health conditions, including a severely weakened heart with blocked valves and liver damage. Police are awaiting toxicology test results to establish the cause of death. The investigation continues with police examining all possible angles.
