Kohima district administration streamlines event permission process

The District Administration in Kohima has introduced a streamlined process for obtaining permission to conduct programmes and events in and around Kohima Town. District Magistrate B. Henok Buchem issued the notification in response to rising applications from organisations and institutions seeking event permits.

Organisers must now submit required No Objection Certificates before permission is granted. Mandatory NOCs include clearances from Police, Traffic Police for events affecting vehicular movement, and the Kohima Municipal Council for programmes within municipal limits. Additional NOCs from Village Councils, Khel Councils or Colony Panchayats are required based on event location.

The measure aims to ensure effective crowd and traffic management, safeguard public safety, and minimise inconvenience to the public during programmes.
