31-Year-Old Life Convict Dies in Gwalior Jail; Family Suspects Assault
A 31-year-old prisoner, Narendra Prajapati from Datia, died under suspicious circumstances at Gwalior Central Jail in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday night. Jail authorities reported his health deteriorated suddenly, and he died on the way to the hospital.
His family has questioned the circumstances, stating he appeared healthy during their last meeting. They allege he bore injury marks on his head and hands, suggesting he was assaulted inside the jail. The family received two calls within minutes—first about his worsening condition, then his death.
Police said an investigation is underway. The incident has raised concerns about prisoner safety in the facility.
