L'Oréal To Acquire Majority Stake In Innovist To Expand India Presence

French cosmetics and beauty major L'Oréal announced on June 18 that it has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Innovist, a fast-growing Indian personal care brand house. The transaction is estimated to value Innovist between $350 million and $450 million, marking one of the significant consumer startup acquisitions in India in recent years.
Innovist operates brands including Bare Anatomy, Chemist at Play, Sunscoop, and Vinci Botanicals. Under the agreement, Innovist's founding team will remain as minority shareholders and manage operations in partnership with L'Oréal India. The brands will be integrated into L'Oréal's Consumer Products Division, expanding its offerings in science-led and digital-first personal care products.
L'Oréal's leadership highlighted India as a key growth market and described the investment as reflecting the company's commitment to combining global expertise with Innovist's understanding of local consumer needs.
