LSR suspends classes after Astha Kunj Park gang-rape; students fear for safety

Lady Shri Ram College has suspended classes following a gang-rape incident at Astha Kunj Park, located near the institution's back gate. The police encounter with the accused took place barely 50 metres from the college entrance, heightening safety concerns among students.

The college's students' union has raised alarm over the incident, noting that 2,000–3,000 women students reside in areas surrounding the park. Some students are considering leaving Delhi amid growing fears about their security in the vicinity.
