Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha Review: Rajniesh Duggal And Anjali Arora Cannot Save Amateur Film

Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha, directed by Abhishek Singh and starring Dev Sharma, Rajniesh Duggal, and Anjali Arora, released in theatres this week. The film follows a young boy visiting Ayodhya who hears the Ramayana story from a sadhu, then depicts events from the epic including Sita's swayamvar, Lord Rama's vanvaas, and the battle between Rama and Ravana.
Dev Sharma delivers the strongest performance as Lord Rama, while Rajniesh Duggal convinces in the role of Ravana despite limited screen time. However, Anjali Arora's de-glam portrayal of Sita struggles throughout, adding to the film's overall shortcomings. Other cast members fail to make a notable impact.
The direction offers no novelty or fresh approach to the subject matter. The film is weighed down by amateur performances and poor graphics. The review rates the film at 1.5 stars, suggesting it is unlikely to match the box office success of recent religious-themed releases.
