Maharashtra health department orders monthly inspections of hospitals, PHCs

The Maharashtra health department has mandated monthly inspections of hospitals and primary health centres across the state. District health officers, civil surgeons and other senior officials have been directed to visit at least three health facilities each month, spending a minimum of three hours at each facility.

Inspecting officials are required to submit detailed reports to health authorities following each visit. The move aims to strengthen oversight and monitoring of healthcare facilities at the district level.
