Maharashtra SIR: Voter exclusion higher in opposition-held seats, data shows

Data on the Systematic Voters' Roll Revision (SIR) in Maharashtra reveals higher voter exclusion rates in opposition-held constituencies. The exclusion rate across 52 seats held by the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) stands at 22.17%, compared to 20.94% across 236 constituencies controlled by the ruling Mahayuti coalition.
The disparity raises questions about the voter roll revision process ahead of state elections. Voter exclusion from electoral rolls can impact turnout and election outcomes.
