Mbappe's Brace Guides France Past Senegal, Becomes France's All-Time Top Scorer

Kylian Mbappe scored a brilliant brace in the second half to lead France to a 3-1 victory over Senegal in their Group I opener at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Tuesday. France struggled in the first half as Senegal controlled the match, but Mbappe and Bradley Barcola turned the tide after the break. Senegal pulled one back through Ibrahim Mbaye, but Mbappe sealed victory with another goal.
With his two goals, Mbappe became France's highest international scorer with 58 goals, surpassing Olivier Giroud's previous record of 57. The Real Madrid striker has now scored 14 goals across three World Cups, trailing only Germany's Miroslav Klose on the all-time list.
