MCD demolishes 543 properties in 17 days following Satya Niketan collapse
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has demolished 543 properties in 17 days following the Satya Niketan building collapse, according to a report to the Delhi High Court. The corporation has also sealed 178 properties and issued notices to 559 others for unauthorised construction violations.
The action represents an intensified enforcement drive against illegal construction practices in the city. The demolitions and sealing operations were undertaken as part of measures to prevent similar structural failures and ensure compliance with building regulations.
