Mirzapur Carpets, Confectionery Products to Gain Global Exposure at UP Trade Show
The Uttar Pradesh government is organizing the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) in Noida starting September 25 to promote local industries and trade. Ten carpet traders and two confectionery traders from Mirzapur district will participate, showcasing their products to traders and importers from 86 countries. The initiative aims to give Mirzapur's carpet industry a new global identity and connect local traders with foreign buyers and new export markets.
Participating carpet companies include Ramashankar Carpet, Shabnoor Carpet, Isteqar Carpet, and Brijesh Dari & Carpet, alongside handicraft and rug traders such as Pari Handicraft, Champion Traders, and One Palace of Rugs. According to the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Center, the trade show will provide local traders an opportunity to explore new markets amid changing international trade conditions.
The state government's One District One Product (ODOP) scheme has supported Mirzapur's carpet industry through financial assistance and facilities, contributing to business growth in the sector.
