Mizoram CM reviews progress of key infrastructure projects

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma chaired the sixth Mi-PRAGATI meeting on Wednesday to review progress of major infrastructure projects, including the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP), railway expansion, and India-Bangladesh border fencing.
Representatives from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways were directed to expedite repairs of damaged stretches under KMMTTP and resolve compensation issues. The 109.2-km Paletwa–Kaletwa–Zochachhuah road project showed 23.35 per cent physical and 30 per cent financial progress. Railways officials briefed on the proposed line from Sairang to Hmawngbuchhuah in Lawngtlai and station improvement works.
The meeting also reviewed the India-Bangladesh border fencing-cum-road project and Aizawl-Tuipang National Highway works. Officials highlighted the need for urgent repairs of damaged roads and resolution of pending project-related issues. A follow-up plan was formulated for review at subsequent meetings.
