BJP rules out alliance with Akali Dal ahead of 2027 Punjab elections

The Punjab BJP has ruled out any electoral alliance with the Akali Dal for the 2027 state assembly elections. State BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon stated that the party is preparing to contest all 117 assembly seats independently, with no possibility of a tie-up with its former ally.
The announcement comes amid reports of a meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal, fuelling speculation about potential coalition plans ahead of the next Punjab polls.
