Greater Noida Bus Fire: Nine Dead as Passengers Recount Horror

A double-decker bus caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida, killing nine people including a woman and injuring several others. Survivors and eyewitnesses have recounted the chaotic moments as passengers struggled to escape the smoke-filled vehicle.
One survivor said he was asleep when another passenger woke him to alert him of the fire. "We all scrambled to get out. It was not an easy situation to escape from; there was a lot of smoke," he recalled. An injured woman told media she was travelling to Mahoba following her mother-in-law's death and was separated from her husband during the evacuation.
Eyewitness Baba Durjan, a resident of nearby Sewada village, said he saw flames coming from the roof of the bus and reached the site within about 10 minutes of the incident.
