Bhopal's Upper Lake hosted a large Boat Tiranga Yatra on Thursday, organised ahead of Independence Day following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to celebrate the national flag. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav led the event, which featured more than 350 boats carrying the Tricolour across the water.
More than 1,000 people participated, including water sports players, athletes, youngsters, members of social organisations and local residents. The yatra, which began at 11 am from the Boat Club, aimed to showcase the national flag across water, land and sky.
Cooperation, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said the initiative strengthened patriotism and national pride. He noted that the Upper Lake's iconic status was used to spread the message of patriotism through the boat yatra.
