MP Excise Department to File FIR Against Suspended Officer Over ₹1 Crore Bribe in Liquor Contract Case

The Madhya Pradesh excise department is preparing to register an FIR against suspended officer Deepam Raichura following bribery allegations. According to police custody statements, a person named Mohit Gogia claimed that Raichura accepted a ₹1 crore bribe in exchange for awarding liquor outlet contracts.
Gogia allegedly submitted fake fixed deposit receipts (FDRs) to secure the contracts for two liquor outlets. When excise department officials verified the FDs, both were confirmed to be forged, corroborating Gogia's account. The department is now investigating whether Raichura had knowledge of the fraudulent documents used in the transaction.
Raichura, who was posted as OSD to Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, was suspended following the discovery of irregularities in the liquor contract allocation process. The inquiry will examine evidence of procedural violations documented in the outlet files. Once the department completes its verification, the formal FIR registration process will commence.
