SVAMITVA Scheme Row Escalates in MP: Nine Patwaris Terminated, 250 Get Notices

The Madhya Pradesh government and patwaris are in conflict over the SVAMITVA scheme implementation. The state terminated nine probationary patwaris in Dewas, Ratlam and Agar Malwa districts, while issuing notices to approximately 200-250 probationary patwaris across various districts. Six patwaris were also suspended in Raisen.
The Patwari Association has threatened an indefinite agitation and plans to boycott all online revenue work if action against patwaris continues. General secretary Dharmendra Sharma claimed the government is targeting junior patwaris while avoiding action against senior staff. Patwaris submitted memoranda at district headquarters across the state on Wednesday protesting the terminations and notices.
The government has also reopened old cases registered with the Lokayukta and Economic Offences Wing, escalating pressure on patwaris.
