₹104 crore road in MP's Sidhi washed away six months after construction

A road constructed at a cost of ₹104 crore in Sidhi district's Rampur Naikin area was damaged after two days of heavy rainfall. A large section of the Khaira-Dithoura road was washed away by strong water flow, raising concerns about construction quality and drainage arrangements. The road, completed six months ago, lacked proper drainage systems for water discharge.
The Bhawarsen Pahad route connecting over two dozen villages in the Khaddi area was also blocked after soil and stones fell from hillsides. The blockage disrupted over a dozen night buses operating between Rewa, Satna and Rampur Naikin. Local residents noted the route had reduced travel distance to Rampur Naikin by nearly 30 km.
Tehsildar Ashish Mishra said drainage arrangements were made after damage was reported. Repair work has begun to restore traffic on the affected stretch.
