MP Panel Invites Public Input on District and Tehsil Reorganisation

The Madhya Pradesh Administrative Unit Reorganisation Commission, chaired by SN Mishra, held a meeting in Ujjain to discuss the process of redrawing administrative boundaries. Mishra emphasised that public representatives and citizens must be consulted before any administrative reorganisation takes place, with the aim of making administration simpler, more accessible and people-oriented.
Proposals for creating, reorganising, rationalising or abolishing divisions, districts, tehsils and development blocks should be submitted through collectors with supporting documentation. The commission will consider factors including population, geographical distance, natural boundaries, industrial areas, infrastructure, resources and administrative efficiency.
The commission is visiting divisions and districts across Madhya Pradesh to gather suggestions. Citizens, institutions, committees and public representatives can submit proposals through a questionnaire available on the commission's portal.
