MSRTC to introduce alcohol, drug tests for drivers, conductors

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will introduce mandatory alcohol and drug testing for its drivers and conductors. The initiative includes pre-duty alcohol checks alongside scheduled and random drug tests for all staff members.

The testing protocol will also cover screening following specific incidents or based on reasonable suspicion. The move aims to enhance passenger safety and reduce road accidents by ensuring operators remain fit for duty.
