Mule Account Holders, SIM Renters Come Under Police Surveillance in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal police have launched a surveillance initiative targeting local individuals who rent out mule bank accounts and SIM cards to cybercriminals across the country. These account holders and SIM renters typically receive commissions while the actual fraud is perpetrated in other states, allowing them to evade action despite their role in nationwide fraud networks.
The Cyber Crime Branch and Cyber Help Desks at police stations will now identify suspects and issue notices to account owners. Police will also maintain strict surveillance on previously arrested cyber fraudsters currently out on bail, who often commit fraud in multiple states. Information will be shared through the Samanvay portal to track suspects more effectively and enable periodic questioning. Bhopal police have identified 30 mule bank accounts linked to various city addresses so far.
