Nabfid sanctions over Rs 3,000 crore in loans to data centres as AI investment accelerates
Nabfid has sanctioned loans exceeding Rs 3,000 crore to at least four data centre operators as India's artificial intelligence and cloud computing capacity needs surge. The financing supports hyperscalers and cloud service providers expanding their infrastructure footprint in the country.
The development bank plans to mobilise approximately Rs 1 trillion to fund such large-scale digital infrastructure projects. The move reflects India's growing focus on building domestic data centre capacity to support its AI ecosystem and digital economy expansion.
