Meeting scheduled on repatriation of Naga ancestral remains from London
The Local Arrangement Committee (LAC) on Repatriation of Naga Ancestral Human Remains has scheduled a coordination meeting for September 29, 2026 at the Western Sümi Hoho Office in Chekiye Village, Dimapur. The meeting aims to bring together tribal leadership and community bodies to ensure a coordinated and respectful approach to repatriating Naga ancestral remains currently held in London.
LAC members Western Sümi Hoho president Tokuho Suhoi Neho and Eastern Nagaland People's Union Dimapur president NT Thamlong Phom stated that invitations have been extended to tribal leadership from organizations including Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur, along with other civil society representatives. Participating organizational leaders are requested to attend with an accompanying official from their respective offices.
The initiative is described as a collective step toward honouring Naga ancestral heritage, cultural identity, and historical dignity through unified community action.
