After eight decades of struggle, Naga movement grapples with fragmentation and unclear path forward

The Naga political struggle, spanning over eight decades, has produced numerous organisations, factions and competing visions, yet lacks a unified direction or concrete political reality, according to a critical perspective from within the movement.
With more than 40 Naga political groups claiming to represent the people's aspirations for sovereignty and self-determination, the movement faces a profound crisis of direction. Each faction offers its own interpretation of Naga rights and the path forward, creating confusion about whom the people should follow.
The core question raised is whether, after 80 years of struggle and sacrifice, any faction has established a functioning administrative system that translates political aspirations into practical reality on the ground.
