Nagaland Bar Association to boycott court proceedings on September 25

The Nagaland Bar Association has decided to withdraw from all court proceedings on September 25, 2026, in protest against the state government's failure to act on its demand for the Advocate General's resignation.
According to NBA joint secretary Akum Pongen, members of the Bar in district courts will be present but will not wear coats and bands as a mark of protest. The association has signalled it may take further action depending on how circumstances develop.
This marks an escalation of the NBA's ongoing protest against what it views as the government's inaction on a key institutional matter.
