Nagaland CM launches fellowship programme and export research initiative

Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio on Thursday launched the Chief Minister's Fellowship Programme, Nagaland (CMFPN) and a NEDFi-TEDF research project at the CMRC Conference Hall in Kohima. The initiatives, undertaken by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in collaboration with the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd., aim to identify strategies for export promotion, creative-economy development and investment diversification.
Rio said the programmes would help identify Nagaland's strengths and emerging opportunities while preparing the state for future growth. He highlighted agriculture, horticulture, tourism, music, arts, culture and sports as sectors with significant economic potential that need to be converted into employment and export opportunities.
The Chief Minister emphasized the creative economy as a growth driver, noting that local artists, musicians, designers and entrepreneurs could contribute to livelihoods and technology sectors. He encouraged the 18 selected fellows to gain practical experience through engagement with policymakers and development experts, positioning the initiatives as steps toward building a more resilient and investment-ready state.
