Nagaland completes drone GIS training to strengthen healthcare delivery

The Drone Centre of Excellence under Nagaland's Planning & Transformation Department concluded a Drone GIS Mapping & Survey Training Programme for health department officials on September 18. The training followed a memorandum signed in January 2026 between the Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing Centre and the Department of Health & Family Welfare.
Participants gained hands-on experience in drone survey planning, aerial data acquisition, and GIS processing. Demonstrations highlighted drone applications including medicine delivery to remote locations, vector control spraying, and disease outbreak response.
Senior health officials and the Joint Director visited the centre's facilities and discussed further deployment of drone technology for health infrastructure mapping, remote area supply delivery, and strengthening healthcare planning across Nagaland.
