Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav reviewed the progress of projects under the Kohima Smart City Mission at Lok Bhavan on Friday. Officials of Kohima Smart City Development Limited briefed the governor on 40 completed projects—34 sanctioned under the Mission and six additional ones.
Kohima was selected under the Smart Cities Mission in September 2016, with KSCDL established as the implementing agency in March 2017. The Mission concluded on March 31, 2026. Infrastructure developed includes the Kohima City Centre, commercial complex, multi-level car parking, sports facilities, cultural hall, and accessible footpaths.
The Integrated Command and Control Centre, now operational, provides 24-hour CCTV surveillance across 80 locations with traffic management and vehicle monitoring. Between November 2025 and September 2026, surveillance data achieved a 76.47% success rate in assisting investigations. Revenue-generating assets under the Mission support continued public amenities.
