Civil groups condemn attempted murder in Nagaland

Two civil society organisations in Nagaland have strongly condemned an alleged attempted murder incident on September 16. Chingmei Range Public Organisation (CRPO) and Chang Union Chümoukedima (CUC) issued statements against the attack on Langshe Lomou Chang, a labourer from Chendang Saddle village in Tuensang district, allegedly by Medochululie Zumvü of Chiechama village in Kohima district.
CRPO described the act as "inhuman and barbaric," noting the victim was the sole breadwinner for his family. The organisation called for fair investigation, justice in accordance with law, and medical assistance and compensation for the victim. CRPO also thanked Chang Union Kohima, Chiechama civil society organisations, and law enforcement agencies for their timely intervention.
CUC termed the act cowardly and senseless, emphasising it violated human dignity and humanity's fundamental principles. The union appealed for swift justice and urged individuals and organisations to condemn such incidents.
