Nagaland Taxi Association seeks parking spaces, fare revision amid fuel cost rise

The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA), representing over 2,000 active members in Kohima and units across nearly all districts, has requested additional designated parking spaces and a fare revision from the government. ANTA president Dziesevituo Solo told Nagaland Post that the association proposed a fare of Rs 42 per kilometre to offset rising fuel costs, with fares currently regulated by the government.
ANTA operates units in all districts except Mon and Niuland, with efforts underway to expand further. The association provides welfare initiatives including annual education scholarships for drivers' children, free ambulance and vehicle recovery services, interest-free accident assistance, and medical camps. This year 48 students received education awards.
The association also manages the Ura Cab app in coordination with authorities, conducts annual tourist driver training during Hornbill Festival, and operates a complaint helpline at the Inter-State Bus Terminal to address passenger grievances including improper parking issues.
