Natural Farming Resource Centre established in Longleng district

DIMAPUR: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (ICAR–KVK) in Longleng has opened a Natural Farming Resource Centre at Pongching Village to serve as a community platform for promoting natural farming and sustainable agricultural practices.
The centre was conceptualised and coordinated by Shubhendu Kumar Behera, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Pathology) at ICAR–KVK Longleng, under the guidance of Dr. Hari Charan Kalita, Senior Scientist & Head of the institution. It will function as a training and demonstration hub for farmers in Pongching and neighbouring villages.
The facility will provide hands-on learning on natural farming inputs including Jeevamrit, Beejamrit, Neemastra and Agniastra. It aims to develop local trainers, integrate traditional Naga agricultural knowledge with scientific approaches, and strengthen community capacity in sustainable farming practices.
