Nayyi Navelli expected to outperform Prahaar at box office on day one

Two Bollywood films released this week: Rajkummar Rao's Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam and Yami Gautam's Nayyi Navelli. Despite low advance bookings for both, early estimates suggest Nayyi Navelli will lead at the box office on day one.
Nayyi Navelli is projected to collect around ₹2.50-3 crore on its opening day, with potential for higher collections if evening and night shows draw stronger footfalls. Prahaar, meanwhile, is expected to earn ₹1.50-2 crore during the same period, subject to similar evening performance variables.
Critically, the two films have received divergent responses. Nayyi Navelli earned mixed reviews, with one critic rating it 2 stars and citing weak screenplay and narration as key shortcomings. Prahaar, conversely, has garnered mostly positive reception, receiving 3.5 stars for its gripping courtroom drama narrative and strong performances, though some noted Rajkummar Rao's occasional struggles with Marathi accent.
