New policy in works to boost agrivoltaics in India, raising farmers' income through energy generation

India's government is formulating a policy to enhance the adoption of agrivoltaics across the country. The initiative aims to increase farmers' income by combining agricultural production with solar energy generation.

States with significant agrivoltaic potential include Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, which together account for nearly half of India's cropland suitable for this practice.
