Noel Tata vows to block IPO listing, seeks three-year window from RBI
Noel Tata has reiterated his opposition to listing Tata Sons on the stock market, asserting that the company's board had unanimously decided to keep it private. He is seeking a three-year extension from the Reserve Bank of India on the requirement to go public.
Tata indicated he would use his veto power if forced to do so to block any IPO listing. The late Ratan Tata's board, according to Noel, had reached consensus on maintaining the unlisted status of India's largest conglomerate.
The position reflects ongoing internal dynamics at Tata Sons regarding its regulatory obligations and the group's strategic direction under new leadership.
