NPF rejects Therie's charges, defends stance on Naga political solution

The Naga People's Front (NPF), the ruling party in Nagaland, has rejected allegations levelled by K. Therie, calling them baseless and politically motivated. The party defended its position on the Naga political issue, opposing President's Rule and advocating for an inclusive political solution involving all Naga groups.
NPF stated that Nagaland has an elected government with popular mandate and argued that President's Rule under Article 356 should only be imposed when constitutional machinery has failed. The party dismissed Therie's claim that it acts as a roadblock to a solution or maintains a nexus with NSCN (I-M) for electoral advantage.
NPF reiterated its role as a facilitator in Naga political negotiations, not a signatory to agreements between political groups and the Centre. The party maintained that its policy of maintaining proximity with all groups aims to create conditions for reconciliation and a lasting, honourable solution.
