Schools shut in four Odisha districts as IMD issues red alert for heavy rains

Schools remain shut in four districts of Odisha as the Indian Meteorological Department issued a red alert following heavy rainfall in the region. A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has caused widespread disruption to normal life across affected areas.
Authorities have placed field machinery on high alert and issued red alerts for three districts. The state government has stated there is no immediate flood threat from rivers at present. Officials are focused on managing urban flooding and addressing waterlogging concerns in vulnerable areas.
