Olympics will increasingly adopt dispersed model, says US Olympic body chief

The chief executive of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has predicted that future Olympic Games will increasingly adopt a dispersed model, moving away from the traditional single-city hosting arrangement.
Hirshland's comments suggest that organizing Olympic events across multiple venues and cities, rather than concentrating them in one location, will become a standard practice for upcoming Games. This shift reflects efforts to reduce the financial and logistical burden on host nations.
The dispersed format allows host countries to utilize existing sports facilities spread across different regions, potentially lowering infrastructure costs and making the Olympics more accessible to wider populations.
