Opposition disrupts BMC proceedings over Rs 20,000 crore land deals
Opposition councillors disrupted proceedings at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday as the civic body cleared what they alleged were land deals worth Rs 20,000 crore. Members tore documents and climbed onto seats in protest during the session.
The opposition objected to the pace and transparency of the clearances, raising concerns over the scale of the transactions being approved by the BMC.
