Oracle Launches Fresh Round of Layoffs; Employees Notified via 6AM Emails

Oracle has initiated a fresh round of layoffs, notifying affected employees via email sent at 6 a.m., effective immediately. This follows the company's earlier job cuts that saw approximately 21,000 employees terminated globally and around 12,000 in India. Several teams are reportedly facing double-digit percentage staff reductions this week.
According to corporate recruiting analyst Amanda Goodall, who tracks workforce data, the current round may affect between 5,000 and 8,000 roles spanning both professional and technical positions. The termination notice informed employees that their roles were eliminated as part of broader organisational change, with access to Oracle systems to be cut off shortly.
News of the layoffs spread across LinkedIn, Reddit, X, and Blind as employees shared their experiences. Oracle has not officially disclosed the total number of positions affected in this latest round, though the company continues aggressive hiring for its AI data-centre expansion.
