IPC Bans Indian Para Athlete Anmol Vasistha for Three Years Over Doping

The International Paralympic Committee has imposed a three-year ban on Indian para-athlete Anmol Vasistha following a positive doping test. Vasistha tested positive for a metabolite of dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone (DHCMT), an anabolic androgenic steroid banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, during the New Delhi World Para Athletics Grand Prix in March.
The adverse analytical finding was detected in a urine sample collected on March 11 during the men's javelin throw F55 event. Vasistha was provisionally suspended on April 24 and subsequently accepted the anti-doping rule violation and the consequences imposed by the IPC.
His three-year period of ineligibility runs from April 24, 2026, to April 23, 2029. During this suspension, he is barred from all competitions and sporting activities, except for authorised anti-doping education or rehabilitation programmes. Vasistha's results from the New Delhi Grand Prix, including medals, points and prizes, have been automatically disqualified.
